Jim Kiser to Build Footing for European Futurity

Kreuth (Germany), March 18 to 24, 2012

Reiners competing at the fourth National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Futurity & NRHA Show in Kreuth, Germany can look forward to top footing conditions. Jim Kiser, one of the world’s leading experts in footing, will manage of the footing in Kreuth – together with Henry Wijdeven of Wijdland Trading, Europe’s importer of the Kiser Dragmaster.

Kiser handles the footing for premier reining shows like the NRHA Futurity at Oklahoma City, the AQHA World Championship Show and the World Equestrian Games. “Good footing is everything,” Kiser says. “It is important both for top performance and the health of the horse’s legs. There are three factors that determine whether a footing will work for reining. First, we make sure the base is not hard enough to make the ground slick. Second, we control the amount of sand used. And last of all we monitor the degree of humidity. We will manage all three factors to provide premium footing for the NRHA European Futurity.”
